Redox process :- redox reaction or oxidation - reduction reaction is type of chemical reaction which involves transfer of electron between two species.

Here, the species that receive electron is reduced and the species that donates electron is oxidised.

Redox process in lake is carried out by photosynthesis and bacterial decomposition of organic matter.

Iron is used as a sensor for redox status.

Redox process increases with increase in oxygen level in water

Redox process increases with decrease in pH of water or increase in hydrogen ions.

Eutrophic lake are rich in nutrients therefore any further increase in redox process is not needed.
