7. Gel electrophoresis is a very important technique in genetic research because it separates molecules on the basis of their charge and size. By using this technique we can easily determine the size of proteins and nucleic acids obtained from a given sample. Not only this, it also helps us to know whether a protein is monomeric or multimeric. Monomeric proteins will form single band on the gel, dimeric will form two bands and so on.

Not only this, the technique is very easy to perform although it consumes more time but the results are also reliable.

10. Gene library will not be a medical application of Recombinant DNA technology. According to gene library, we just create a library where different segments of DNA are kept. We isolate DNA from an organism and cut out all the genes present in DNA using restriction enzymes. Then we keep all those genes at low temperature and this is called as gene library. It is made to study the structure and function of gene.
