The following characteristics are of amphibians.

Ectothermic.

Amphibians are ectothermic as they derive heat from the environment instead of producing it in their bodies.

Have three-chambered hearts.

Amphibians have a three-chambered heart i.e, one ventricle and two atria. It is ideal as per their oxygen needs as they can also get oxygen through their skin.

Typically spend some part of their life cycle in water.

Amphibians start their life generally in moist places/ watery places. For e.g, frogs are first born as tadpoles.

Have eyelids to keep eyes moist.

Amphibians have several eyelids which function in keeping the eye moist. For e.g, frogs blink their upper eyelid and keep their eyes moist.

Some undergo metamorphosis.

metamorphosis is the abrupt change in an organism's body. amphibians generally are born in the water and undergo metamorphosis to even survive in lands. For e.g frogs start out as tadpoles and undergo metamorphosis to become frogs.

Respire through their skin or small lungs.

Amphibians like frogs can breathe through their skin as well as their lungs which makes it ideal for them as they can survive in water as well as land and three-chambered heart would be efficient enough for their needs as they can get oxygen from the skin as well.

Produce sound through their larynx.

Amphibians such as frogs make noises through the larynx it is loud and is important in mating and survival.

Evolved from lobe-finned fishes.

According to evolutionists, the first, amphibians evolved from a lobe-finned fish in about 365 million years ago
