Gel electrophoresis has the ability to make thousands of protein spots visible to the eye. thousands of protein spots. This test provides much information because it is possible to determine the isoelectric point of each protein on the gel. Quantitative measurements of protein are also possible after gel scanning and performing a comparative analysis of its image with the appropriate software. Permanent changes in the DNA sequence is called mutation

. So we generally take the DNA fragments screening for mutations and run it in gel electrophoresis against a normal DNA fragment of the same sequence. but the procedure is not as simple.
