  • After glycolysis, pyruvate has to be converted to acetyl CoA by the enzyme pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, for it to enter the Kreb's cycle. Pyruvate is a part of Kreb's cycle , in a way, but is not a product of it. Therefore, the correct answer is option D.
  • Active transport works against the concentration gradient and needs energy through ATP. Therefore, among the options given, option B is the correct answer.
