Answer #1
  1. cellular respiration produces more pyruvate per mole of glucose than fermentation- False. In fermentation partial breakdown of glucose occurs whereas complete breakdown of glucose occurs in cellular respiration. Presence of kreb cycle in cellular respiration while it is absent in other. 2 molecules of pyruvate are produced in cellular respiration while same 2 molecules are also present in fermentation because glycolysis occurs in fermentation too as intial step .
  2. cellular respiration produces more NADH per mole of glucose than fermentation- TRUE . 6 NADH are produced in cellular respiration from one glucose. while only 2 NADH in fermentation.
  3. cellular respiration produces more lactatae per mole of glucose than fermentation- FALSE Because lactate is produced only in fermentation due to inadequate oxygen to undergo cellular respiration.
  4. cellular respiration produces more CO2 per mole of glucose than fermentation. - True . in cellular respiration total 6 molecules of CO2 are formed ( 4 from kreb cycle and 2 during conversion of pyruvate to acetyl CoA). In fermentation only 2 molecules of CO2 is produced.
  5. cellular respiration produces more ATP per mole of glucose than fermentation - TRUE , cellular respiration produces 36 ATP (2ATP and 2 NADH-glycolysis, 2 NADH - oxidative decarboxylation, 6NADH2,2FADH2, 2 ATP- Kreb cycle) per molecule of glucose while only 2 molecules of ATP are produced in fermentation.
