.Lacl produces REPRESSOR PROTIEN which binds with operator to switch -off the operon.

When lactose is given,it binds with repressor such that the operon becomes swutch-off.

Now ,when it gets mutated ,it becomes unable to bind with lactose as well as oprator site .

Hence,THE LACTOSE WILL BE SWITCH -ON ,EITHER IN THE PRESENCE OR IN ABSENCE OF LACTOSE.

.If z-gene is transcriptionally inactive ,it will never produce beta -galactosidase.

Hence lactose will never be broken through lac-opron.
