Except B , all other options are true regarding serological tests. Serological tests can inform us about any past infections but cannot be used to infer the status - active or inactive - of the infection.

Serological tests when done in enough quantities can be used as a strong indicator to judge the immunity status of the population. It can give information about the proportion of population which has acquired immunity against an infection and thus inform about social distancing measures.

Serological tests can give false positives in cases of dengue and corona viruses since they previou immunizations carried out in the body elicit antibodies in the blood and this can result in giving false positives.

The test available for COVID - 19 shows fluorescence when the antibodies present in blood detect the spike protein of COVID 19 outer coat. This serological test involves a PCR reaction.
