I don't know what 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 are. I need help understanding what they are and what they dom. Thanks for any help in advance.
This is a diagram of the lac operon.
Top diagram shows repressed state and bottom diagram shows active
state.
1 is RNA polymerase
2 is Repressor
3 is Promoter
4 is Operator
5 is Lactose
6 is lacZ
7 is lacY
8 is lacA
lacZ codes for β-galactosidase gene
lacY codes for Beta-galactoside permease
lacA codes for Galactoside acetyltransferase.
How it works:
Top diagram shows repressed state
Lac repressor is not expressed as inducer like lactose cannot binds
binds to it. Therefore, lac repressor is not active and RNA
polymerase cannot bind to promoter and as repressor binds to
operator.
Bottom diagram shows active state.
Lac repressor is expressed when inducer like lactose binds to
it.
Lac operon is expressed only when lactose is present. In presence
of lactose it acts as inducer and binds to repressor so that
repressor do not binds to operator. Now, it allows RNA polymerase
to bind to promoter and catalyse the synthesis of
beta-galactosidase gene.

I really need help understanding this question, especially the formal charge, I just don't get what I am doing wrong. Draw Kekulé structures for each compound. Indicate all formal charges CH3CHCHCH2Cl CH3C(CH3)2 CHO BF3 HN3
Hi there. I really need help with this one. I don't fully understand and don't know where to begin, so please explain carefully. Thanks. The picture below has species I-IV (teg = species in this case) and traits/characteristics (a-j). Classify species I-IV based on the traits (a-j) and draw a parsimony tree. What effect would it have on your classification of the species, if it was based on the amount of shared characteristics/traits? Does it change anything if 0 (zero)...
I am having trouble understanding this question. I don't need every single value worked out I just want to understand what to do so I can work the rest out myself! The question is written exactly as writtten: The pK of an acid is 4.16. Calculate the pH of a solution of the acid if it is titrated to the following extents. Use the value associated with your student ID: extent of titration with NaOH, percent 0 1 2 3...
please help, I don't know what to do. A step-by-step solution would be much appreciated. Thanks so much! 3) Consider the "loop" shown in the figure below, where the two rails have a spacing of d= 0.10 m and, at the moment shown, the long metal rod is at a distance of l = 0.18 m from the end of the track. This apparatus sits in a uniform magnetic field that points out of the page and has a strength...

Thanks for any and all help! 13) Underlying asset price at current time is $100 and (up factor in the binomial tree) is 1.05 and (down factor in the binomial tree) is 0.95. Exercise price is $95 and risk-free rate is 0.02%. Assume one-period model. (Use this for all 3 questions) What is the European call option price? a) $1.51 b)...
i need help understanding this. From what I know more reactive is less stable. Isn't it better to have a carbocation next to a EDG group instead of a EWG. Therefore, if the carbocation ends up next to a EDG group it will be more stable which is less reactive? Arrange the following carbocations in the order of increasing reactivity (3 pt): Br CI NH2 NO2 OHC
