• REASON--->There is abundance of smooth endoplasmic reticulum in liver cell (hepatocytes )because smooth ER is the site where lipo-protein particles synthesized  and transport the lipid to other parts of the body through blood stream .
• Smooth ER also involves in detoxification of the cell as, during metabolism various lipid- soluble drugs and various other harmful components produced so,the enzymes that are present in the membrane of ER detoxify those components to maintain the healthy environment of the liver.
