Option C - Complex carbohydrates

Athletes need a lot of energy to continuously perform, they will be having energy needs for longer periods and for not getting fatigue in muscle they should need continuous supply of sugars to skeletal muscle. If simple sugars taken, they are easily used immediately and proteins take time for metabolism and release energy. But the complex carbohydrates provide a lot of simple carbohydrates by breakdown, that can be used for prolonged time for energy supply.
