Answer #1

Ø The Factors affecting microbial protein systhesis are nitrogen concentration, rate of nitrogen, nitrogen sources, carbohydrate degradation, carbohydrate sources ,dry matter intake, synchronization of nitrogen and simultaneous release of energy.

Ø Ruminal microbial protein synthesis requires adequate amount of nitrogen for maximum efficiency.

Ø When the nitrogen concentration is low uncoupled fermentation may occur. As a result of this fermentation without ATP use occur.

Ø In order to get maximum microbial growth energy and nitrogen availability must be balanced.

Ø Several studies reveal that increasing crude protein in basal diet may increase microbial protein synthesis.
