Answer #1

Answer: C. B-cell

Comments: The antigen presenting cells (APCs): are immune cells that help in mediating the cellular immune response by engulfing, processing and presenting of antigen to lymphocytes for their activation and effector functions (cytokine production). The classical antigen presenting cells are dendritic cells (DC), macrophages and B cells. The B cells are mainly known for humoral immunity (production of antibodies) however, it also acts as a professional APC. The BCR present on B cell surface binds with extracellular antigen that leads to activation of B cells to express CD40 on its cell surface. The CD40 on B cells binds with CD40L (CD154; a co-stimulatory molecules) express on T cells. The binding of CD40/CD40L activate the T cells to produce effector response (secret effector cytokines especially; IL-2, IL-4 and IL-5).
