Answer #1

Photosytem 2 is present in the electron transport chain where it is driven by light of wavelength 680nm that's why called as P680. In the reaction center of photosystm 2 chlorophyll molecule is present which gets activated on absorption of light. Upon absorption of light or photon P680 is excited and it transfers an electron to a nearby protein called as Pheophytin. P680 oxidized by transfer of electrons is re-reduced by electron of water. In these light reaction water is also involved, splitting of water results in 4 electrons and 4 protons. These electrons move from PS2 to PS1 and finally makes up NADPH. This flow of electrons and all the reactions in between PS1, B6f complex and PS2 occurs in a cyclic manner or Z scheme.

does anyone know D? Lab 8 Spring 2020 The Light Reactions The light reactions begin with the photolysis of water. Photolysis refers to the process by which, in the Intact thylakoid membranes and light. water is split into oxygen protons and electrons. Therefore, was primary electron donor in photosynthesis. Conversion of water, a very stable molecule, to oxygen is er unfavorable and would not occur to any significant extent without input of light energy in photosystem e process by which,...
