Acclimatization is the process in which an individual organism adjusts to a change in its environment (such as a change in altitude, temperature, humidity, photoperiod, or pH), allowing it to maintain performance across a range of environmental conditions. Acclimatization is induced by the environment and is considered phenotypic and not genotypic change.
Adaptation is the evolutionary process where an organism becomes better suited to its habitat. This process takes place over many generations. It is one of the basic phenomena of biology. When people speak about adaptation, they often mean a 'feature' (a trait) which helps an animal or plant survive.
So if the coral reefs adapted to bad conditions, it will be adapted and their offsprings will gain from this. So it's better they adapt not acclimatize.
