The mechanism of retrotransposition is similar to that of replicative transposition .

In replicative transposition the genetic component , which also called as transposon will replicate and the copy will be sent to different locations .

In non replicative method , the excision of the the component and then joining at an desirable site is done.

Since in retro transposition , the component or the transaposon is copy and then one of the copy will go the hospital . So it is similar to replicative transposition .
