QUESTION 17

In this context, somites are segmented structures and part of the mesoderm which are formed in both sides of the neural tube during the embryo development. Somites are part of the mesoderm . The somites are considered precursors of several cell populations. Once the somites matures, the will become in:

•Sclerotome that forms the cartilage

•Dermatome that forms the dermis

•Endothelial cells

At the same time, somites will rise to the vertebral column, skeletal muscles, skin and tendons.
