Explanation:-

During meiosis, one cell divides twice and thus forms 4 haploid daughter cell. These 4 daughter cells only have half number of chromosomes of parent cell.

Meiosis occur in two phase. In the first phase one cell undergoes reduction division and forms 2 haploid (n) daughter cell having half number of chromosome of parent cell.

Now 2n =10 , n = 10/2 =5.

Then Each cell undergo equal division with the formation of 2 daughter cell with that 5 chromosomes each.
