Answere : Tortion angles are most important local structural parameters responsible for protein-folding. There are three main chain tortion angles in a peptide bond between two amino acids. These are : phi, psi and omega angles.

The two tortion angles are phi and psi are provides flexibility required for polypeptide backbone to adopt a certain fold. These angles occur on any side of alpha C atom whereas omega angle is actual angle for peptide bond. Omega angle is flat and fixed. The psi and phi angles have high rotational freedom. Peptide bond restrict omega angle to 180 degree in trans state and 10 degree in cis state.
