Find the percentile that corresponds to a specific data value x by using the following formula

percentile of X = ( number of data values less than x / total number of data values ) *100

There have been 75 winners for an acting award.Four winners were older than Jane Doe when they won the award. Find the percentile that corresponds to Jane Does's age.

Let us consider

X = Jane Does's age

N = number of winners = 75

The one winner was older than Jane Doe , so number of winners younger than Jane Doe age

75-2 = 73

percentile of Jane Does's age

=( number of data values less than Jane Does's age / total number of winners) *100

percentile of Jane Does's age = (73 / 73 )* 100

percentile of Jane Does's age = 97.33

percentile of Jane Does's age = 98 (nearest whole number )
