Fairness – is a topic under the studies of Legal studies; which is why it is so debatable. Just like every person has their opinion, similarly fairness has a different viewpoint which varies from person to person. To some extent it also deals with the opportunities and limitations an individual can have; extending this discussion it can also be said that a direct comparison between any two individuals in terms of values and his influence (Ex. To explain the prior sentence - take an example to understand this better – imagine a sport star who has won medals for his country hits you while driving; you were safe went to court. So think what should be a feasible decision; should that sportsman be made free since he has a wide influence on the society, he should be free as he is well known guy who played for his country or he be punished). Fairness also means to be totally impartial while treating someone without any sort of favouritism and discrimination.

Talking on what similarity they (they means fairness and equality) hold I would say that both have a common origin i.e. social justice. Both of them are a core part of social justice and are drawn with references as and when needed by the practitioner. One can also say Equality is a part of Fairness. The purpose behind their relation to make community safe and a sense of security based on the grounds of fairness and equality.

With the sentence "True justice and the common good do not require equality in the sense of economic sameness”; Sirico tries to enlighten the importance of human happiness and wellbeing, the governing system around an individual must promote success, which is definitely something which is hard earned. He emphasizes the importance of true justice without being biased.
