Answer #1

Flow chart for ADD and SUBTRACT operation:

The flow chart is divided into two parts one is addition and other is subtraction

First check for the sign of two operands by performing XOR operation

Subtract Add Mindend in A sobtrahend in B Adend in B. Augend na I AS OBS A ABS 1 A=Bg AstBs EAC A+Bt) AUFEO FAAAB AVFEE E A>B

Result of the Arithemetic operation will be in As and A.

Flow Chart for MULTIPLICATION OPERATION:

The final product is available in both A and Q, with A holding the most significant bits and Q holding the least significant bits.

find the below image for flowchart and example

Multiply operation - Multiplicand in B Multiplice in a As Q Bs QSC Q Bs ACO ECO Scen-1 = EA A-4-В shr EAQ SCE SC-1 #0 sc END

DIVIDE OPERATION:

Below image represents the flow chart

shl represents shift left

sc is sequence counter

Quotient is in Q and Remainder is in A.

The Arithmetic Logic Unit The first topic for the project is to create an Arithmetic Logic Unit, using a structured approached with a Virtual Hardware Design Language such as Verilog. Mainly, the program is very close to a simulator for a programming calculator. An ALU typically has the following operations Math Functions: Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide, Modulus Logic Functions: And, Or, XOR, Not, Nand, Nor, XNOR Error Modes: Divide by Zero, Overflow Support Functions: No Operation, Shift Left, Shift Right,...

Stacks and Java 1. Using Java design and implement a stack on an array. Implement the following operations: push, pop, top, size, isEmpty. Make sure that your program checks whether the stack is full in the push operation, and whether the stack is empty in the pop operation. None of the built-in classes/methods/functions of Java can be used and must be user implemented. Practical application 1: Arithmetic operations. (a) Design an algorithm that takes a string, which represents an arithmetic...

    2. Write an application that inputs a 3-digits number from the user and checks if all digits are prime numbers. If all digits are prime your program should stop. Use do/while for reading the input and any loop format to test if the number is prime. When checking the prime numbers don't use an if to check numbers from 1 - 9; you need to find an algorithm to check if the number is prime or not. Enter a 3-digit...

    1. Specification Write a C program to implement a simple calculator that accepts input in the following format and displays the result of the computation: calc [operand_1] [operator] [operand_2] The operands operand_1 and operand_2 are non-negative integers. The operator is one of the following: addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (x), division (/) and modulo (%). Note: For the multiplication operator, use letter ‘x’. If you use the asterisk ‘*’, your program will not work properly 2. Implementation • The program...

EVALUATING GENERAL INFIX EXPRESSIONS INTRODUCTION The notation in which we usually write arithmetic expressions is called infix notation; in it, operators are written between their operands: X + Y. Such expressions can be ambiguous; do we add or multiply first in the expression 5 + 3 * 2? Parentheses and rules of precedence and association clarify such ambiguities: multiplication and division take precedence over addition and subtraction, and operators associate from left to right. This project implements and exercises a stack-based algorithm that evaluates...
