(a) A cellular network system with a cluster size of 12 is designed to operate in a
propagation environment with a pass loss factor of 3.5. Verify whether the designed
system can be successfully deployed for practical use if a minimum signal to co-
channel interference ratio of 18 dB is required for the satisfactory performance.
Assume that the interference comes from the first-tier co-channel cells in the system
which at the same distance from the mobile phone.

(b) If the above cellular system operates at a signal power of – 90 dBm and observes an
adjacent channel interference of − 120 dBm. Calculate the amount of co-channel
interference the system can tolerate and determine the overall signal-to-interference
ratio.

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
