Answer #1

MARITAL STATUS IS INDEPENDENT VARIABLE

INDEPENDENT VARIABLE

1.If you have two variables, one that you can change freely and another that changes when you change the first, then you would call the first an "independent variable" and the second a "dependent variable."

2.An independent variable is an entity whose values cannot be changed and are always circumstantial.

3. A simple example can be taken to understand easily that in speed distance time relation (d=st), one can change the distance covered or the velocity of the object but we cannot change time. this means time is independent and distance as well velocity is dependent variable because these depends upon time.

In the context of this problem the health is being affected by the marital status.marital status affects the health not health affects the marital status because it has been observed in this problem is that singles are more healthier than married.Hence marital status is independent variable and health is dependent variable.
