(Q40) This statement is FALSE. Since population standard deviation is known, and if we take a sample size > 30, then the confidence interval would still be valid using a standardized test.

We would also have been able to use a standardized test, if it were not known that the population was normally distributed

and the following were noticed

(a) Unknown population standard deviation and n was small (students t test)

(b) known population standard deviation but the sample size was small. (Students t test)

Find the left tailed p value at z test = 2. This value (from the normal distribution tables) = 0.9772

Then find the right tailed value = 1 - Left tailed value = 1 - 0.9772 = 0.0228

Then multiply the right tailed p value by 2 to get the two tailed p value = 2 * 0.0228 = 0.0456
