Answer #1

as per hooke's law

F = kx

83/ x = k.. (i)

Considering energy conservation

0.5 k x^2 = 0.5 m v^2

83 / x * x^2 = 1.82* 1.2^2

x = 0.0316 m

putting in (i)

k = 2630 N/m

    A 1.07 kg block is held in place against the spring by a 31 N horizontal external force. The external force is removed, and the block is projected with a velocity v1 = 1.2 m/s upon separation from the spring. The block descends a ramp and has a velocity v2 = 1.6 m/s at the bottom. The track is frictionless between points A and B. The block enters a rough section at B extending to E. The coefficient of kinetic...

    A 12-kg block is pressed against a spring (spring constant 620 N/mN/m ), compressing it some distance. The block is released from rest and slides across a track as shown in (Figure 1). While most of the track is frictionless, there is a 55-cm section of track that has a coefficient of friction with the block of 0.3. A bit further on, the track ascends into a hill that is 40-cm tall. Part A: What is the minimum compression of...

    (10 points) A block of mass m = 0.80 kg is held in place against a spring with spring constant k = 3000 N/m, compressing it a distance of 0.022 m. The block is released from rest and is projected to the right and down a ramp of height h = 1.5 m, as shown in the figure below. The entire surface is frictionless until point B, after which the coefficient of friction between the block and the surface is...
