Answer #1

Answer to Q 1: d) All of the above.

(Solar cells) Light falls on the photovoltaic cells in which two different elements are arranged in such a pattern such that the energy from incident sun-light generates electric current.

(Wind Mills) Devices in which large rotator blades move due to the motion created because of wind energy thereby generating electricity via the principle of dynamo.

(Nuclear Power) The nucleas of radioactive substances are split in such a way that the energy created in used to boil water in order to create steam which can in turn generate power by driving a turbine.

In all of the above options no carbon dioxide is created as a byproduct hence the answer.

Answer to Q 2: d) All of the above.

Global warming increases the overall averaged temperature of a locality or at a global level and as such there are higher cases of heat stress, cardiovascular disease and kidney disease. Because of the increase in body temperature the pressure of blood drops which results in different heart ailments and kidney diseases as the load on kidneys also increases so as to eliminate toxic wastes and to maintain thermoregulation by the process of perspiration.

Increase in the global temperature (or of a specific locality) increases the overall allergies to polllens and more people tend to complain of complications associated with asthama and related bronchitis problems.

Global warming also helps in the spread of diseases like malaria and dengue due to the fact that the vectors of such diseases survive in the higher temperature environment.
