Doxorubicin is the best known and most widely used member of tge antgracyckine antibiotic group of anticancer agents. It is the most commonky used drugs for the treatment of both hematological and dokid tumors.the therapy - liniting toxicity for this drug is cardiomyopathy , which may lead to congestive heart failure and death. An approach to ameliorating doxorubicin related toxicity is to use drug carriers which engender a change in the pharmacological distribution of the drug, resulting in reduced drug levels in the heart. Example of tgese carrier system include lipid based( liposome) formulations that effect a beneficial change in doxorubicin biodistribution , with two formulations, approved for clinical use. There is no pill form of doxorubicin (liposomal). The amount of doxorubicin deoends on height, general health, ither health problems and tyoe of cancer. Do not take aspirin or products containing aspirin . Do not receive any kind of vaccination while taking doxorubicin ( liposomal) .pregnancy category doxorubicin may be hazardous to the foetus. The heart patients also cannot receive this drug.
