Answer #1

Similarities between classical, operant and observational learning-

The main similarities between classical and operant conditioning is the both are a learning process. But classical conditioning is based upon the two stimuli, an example : a dog to salivate in response to sound of bell.

And operant conditioning is learned through either positive or negative reinforcement or punishment. For an example : when a lab rat presses a blue key, he receives food as a reward and when he presses red key, he receives electric shook as a punishment.

Observational learning is a learning that occures through observed the other behaviours. Like children learns to chew.

Differences between classical, operant and observational learning :

  • Classical conditioning is a learning process in which it is made between a previous neutral stimulus that naturally evaluate a response. Operant conditioning is a learning method by which the probability of response might be increased or decreased due to either reinforment or punishment. And observation learning is a learning by which it occures through observing others.
  • Classical conditioning also known as a pavlovian or respondent conditioning, Operant conditioning known as a instrumetal conditioning, and Observational learning aslo known as a observational conditioning.
