The estradiol is an estrogen and female sex hormone that maintains estrous and mentrual cycle in females.Although estradiol is present in low level in men but also plays an important role males also. This hormone is not unique to males and females but also present in other organisms as well where it also plays an important role . Estradiol is found in vertebrates, crustaceans, insects, fish etc.Another sex hormone testosterone belongs steriod androgens that is released from testes in males it is also found many vertebrates thus this hormone is also not unique to males.
