Ans: a. R-left carbon atom: R-right carbon atom

For left carbon the lowest priority group H is not pointing away. So rotate the molecule such that D and H swap places. Now the priority groups -C(SCH3)(CH3)(OCH3) to -Phenyl to -D describes clockwise rotation. So the configuration is R

For right carbon the priority groups -SCH3 to -OCH3 to -CH3 describes clockwise rotation. So the configuration is R.
