Brown was noted anthropologist,her focused on understanding and
interpreting the religious practice of the Haitian Diaspora ,
particularly Vodou.
Brown argued that Vodou's complex complex philosophy spirituality
and spirit ,as well it's rituals of trance and possession brought
healing of body ,mind and broken relationship. Her ethnographic
research challenged traditional anthropology models of participants
observer methods.
Brown was a critic of non liberal economics and she was big supporter of LGBT equality.
She also with her fellow colleagues conducted a multi year research initiative design ti better understand the the rich religious worlds of Newark, New Jersey.
Wade Davis
According to Davis culture and language are disappearing with a
speed ,and around 50 per cent of the world's 7,000 language is no
longer taught to children. Her argues in the most beautiful terms ,
that language is much more than that of vocabulary and grammatical
rules .Every language is an old growth forest of the mind.
His main focus is on the disappearance of culture from the world, for that he travelled many countires to study about their language and culture .Davis says ,every culture has something to say .He also says cultures are just two different ways of interpreting the world and are not on a continuum from traditional to modern.
