Committed to a sustainable future, Amazon is making big changes to protect the planet. One of Amazon's vision is to to make all shipments net zero carbon, with 50% of all shipments net zero carbon by 2030. And Amazon is doing this by improving and optimising their operations.

The key initiative taken by Amazon towards eco-friendly ways of transportation are:

1) Electrification of the delivery vehicle: Amazon has investing a lot on electrifying the delivery van across the globe.

2) Improving design of current vehicles to increase fuel efficiency.

3) Using machine learning and artificial intelligence to predict the future demand of products and transport the product in advance to avoid transporting the product on urgent basis using more planes or vehicles.

4) Based on data received, Amazon accomodate maximun shipment in one vehicle or plane.

5) Amazon use machine to check the area of the shipment so that minimum packaging material is required. This reduce the size and weight and ultimately increaese the fuel efficiency.

6) Eco-friendly delivery methods include delivery packages on foot, bicycles, electric bikes and drones.

Amazon hires third party logistics like UPS, FedEx etc to transport the international shipment.
