  • Thus, if oxygen is absent, the electron will not be transferred to oxygen and the carrier proteins will remain in reduced form.
  • If oxygen is suddenly introduced, Cytochrome C will become oxideized beforre the NADH dehydrogenase, as oxygen act as terminal electron acceptor and accept electrons from cytocrome before complex I.
