a) Average blood flow rate ( in mL/min ) = number of heartbeats per minute X blood pumped in one heart beat

= 70 X 70 = 4900 mL/ min

b) Blood flow rate is 4900 mL/minute as calculated in part (a)

Total bood loss means that 4.8 litres which is 4800 mL

Therefore time taken will be Blood Volume Lost / Blood flow rate = 4800 / 4900 = 0.9795 minute = 58.7755 seconds ( 1 minute = 60 s)

c) 20 percent blood loss = 20/100 * 4800 = 960 mL

Time taken = Blood Lost / Blood flow rate = 960 / 4900 = 0.1959 minute = 11.75 seconds

d) 50 percent loss = 50/100 * 4800 = 2400 mL

time taken = Blood Lost / Blood flow rate = 2400 / 4900 = 0.4897 minute = 29.38 seconds
