Solution :

We are instructed to use the Chi-square distribution table. Also the significance level is 0.01.

The decision rule based on the p-value is given by ;

If the p-value <= significance level, we reject H0. And if p-value > significance level we fail to reject H0.

1. Chisq-Stat = 5.02 and df = 2

From the Chi-square distribution table we get, 0.080 < p-value < 0.085.

Since p-value > significance level ( 0.01) we fail to reject H0.

2. Chisq-Stat = 12.25 and df = 6

From the Chi-square distribution table we get, 0.055 < p-value < 0.060.

Since p-value > significance level ( 0.01) we fail to reject H0.

3. Chisq-Stat = 21.31 and df = 9

From the Chi-square distribution table we get, 0.010 < p-value < 0.015.

Since p-value > significance level ( 0.01) we fail to reject H0.

4. Chisq-Stat = 19.55 and df = 4

From the Chi-square distribution table we get, p-value < 0.01.

Since p-value < significance level ( 0.01) we reject H0.

5. Chisq-Stat =5.53 and df = 3

From the Chi-square distribution table we get, p-value < 0.01.

Since p-value > significance level ( 0.01) we fail to reject H0.
