f(x,y) = xy - x^4 - y^4

\frac{\partial f(x,y)}{\partial x} = \frac{\partial }{\partial x}(xy - x^4 - y^4) = y - 4x^3

\frac{\partial f(x,y)}{\partial y} = \frac{\partial }{\partial y}(xy - x^4 - y^4) = x - 4y^3

Equating both these points to obtain the critical points

x = 4y^3 \ and \ y = 4x^3

x - 4(4x^3)^3 = 0

x - 256x^{9} = 0

x(1 - 256x^8) = 0

So, this will give the critical points as x=0 or x = -1/2,1/2

Hence the set of critical points are

(0,0), (1/2,1/2) and (-1/2,-1/2)

Imaginary number of pairs are (i/2,-i/2) and (-i/2,i/2)
