Yes, i think fear of bad news is a common barrier to active listening among supervisors because fear is a emotion falls under pyschological barriers which can limit the ability of a person to understand or listen other's point of view. for example- A supervisor get the news that company is merging with another big company so supervisor get insured and get fear that he would lose his job or position in the company. In this way, when management or other people try to communicate with supervisor he is not attentively listening as his mind is thinking how he can save his job or what would happen if he loses his position etc.

for example- a old person may understand Baby as real child but young person use baby as flirting way like boy is flirting with a girl saying baby.
In US culture Hell is used most often like hell ya.while in Indian culture hell is actually hell
Dope can be understand as Person taking drug in Indian culture while in US and african culture it show person is cool and adventrous.
Beef is used for meat in different culture and among old people but young people may use this for conflict, issues and fight like a class student is saying that he has beef with a senior student.
