I just started chemistry for health sciences and my question is, when adding weights i.e 320.084g + 20.0g + 22g do you write it as 362.084g or do you go to the nearest known significant figure which I would guess is 362?
Addition or subtraction is rounded to the lowest number of decimal places.
320.084g has 3 decimal places
20.0g has 1 decimal place.
22g has no decimal place (I.e. zero) .
The addition result would also have least number of decimal places i.e. zero.
320.084 g + 20.0g + 22g = 362g. (Answer) ( correct significant figures)

Hello, I just subscribed for studying chemistry.
Thank you for seeing my question.
I saw the answer for this problem, but I could't
understand why the electron dots aren't drawn for the two
oxygen.
I think the right oxygen has 2 lone pair because of
the octec rule. Actually, I'm confused because the partial negative
charge of the right oxygen in the resonance hybrid comes from minor
contributor that has the oxygen having 3 lone pair. What is
correct?
If...

"Oh phew," the jailer says. "That makes my life so much easier! I was afraid I would have to arrest you! Then there's a trial, and an execution, and a burial...it's a mess. Don't worry about the trial though, we assume innocent until proven guilty. We are a civilized folk after all. This whole time I kept pondering four different scenarios just in case I had to arrest you. Want to hear them? Of course you do! -the first scenario...
