Answer #1

Electrostatic potential energy of a molecule is a function of partial charges (positive and negative) on various atoms of the molecule. It is the measure of separation between positive and negatively charged regions.

Acid strength is the measure of acidic character. Higher is acid strength, more is Ka value and lesser is the pKa.

Correlation:

Larger is the charge separation, more is the value of electrostatic potential and hence more will be Ka (dissociation constant). This is because charge separation causes easy release of H+ due to increased electronegativity of the atom bearing ionizable proton. This high electronegativity creates positive charge which repels the proton and so it is easily released. Higher positive electron potential results in high Ka
