Answer #1

The two factor theory of Herzberg states that there are two types of job factors one results in satisfaction whereas other result is dissatisfaction. Here Herzberg also specifies that opposite to Satisfaction factor is No satisfaction factor whereas opposite to Dissatisfaction factor is No Dissatisfaction factor. He classified the jobs in two categories one is Hygiene factors and another is Motivational factors.

Hygiene factors are those which are necessary for the motivation in the workplace. These factors works for long term perspective and lead positive satisfaction. If absent then lead to dissatisfaction. These factors are maintenance factors and also known as dissatisfies as they avoid dissatisfaction. These factors shows that the need which individual wants from their work are as follows:

1. Payment- Reasonable Salary

2. Flexible and fair Company policy and administrative policy.

3. Fringe benefits including medical insurance for family.

4. Good and safe Working conditions

5. Status of employee in organization

6. Job security

Motivational factors are those factors that brings the positive satisfaction. These enhances the employee to perform in splendid way. These are satisfiers. It enhances the job performance of employees and boost their moral also. It can be any reward which gives moral benefits.

These factors are as follows:

1. The praise for their work (recognition by managers).

2. The employee result have achievement sense.

3. Growth and promotions on the basis of their achievements.

4. Responsibility for the work allocated with less control.

5. Interest or meaningful work as per their skills.

In the Ice Travel case, same factors are considered for the motivational factors. These factors plays major role in motivating employees of Ice Travel.

Write a reflective paragraph summarizing your thoughts. Organizational change research has been criticized for neglecting the role of history in the study of change (Pettigrew et al., 2001). Much of the existing research tends to treat organizational change as “episodic” and comprising of independent events (Pettigrew, 1987, p. 655). More generally, research in organizational behavior has tended to ignore the theoretical and methodological significance of context in the examination of work attitudes and outcomes (Johns, 2006). In the studies reported...
