Greetings,

Please find below the problems /mistakes in the JD.

Please Note: Mistakes are underlined and their reason is mentioned in italics

Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Classification: Exempt

Salary Grade/Level/Family/Range: Grade 4

Reports to: Steven Fader

Date: Created 05-31-1994

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The human resource manager is responsible for human resources in the company.

It is just repeating the term human resources from the title, A proper summary includes a little detailed description of what the role has to offer, what all tasks would be administered under his supervision. For example : The human resource manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.

Functions

The first and foremost thing is to use bullet points while listing out functions.

hr manager is a broad term and it includes various roles within itself. So a good JD would include what all HR roles and responsibilities the job caters in. Some of the broad Human Resources functions/jobs/roles are:

1.Training and Development Manager- create and evaluate training programs, boosts employee's performance

2.Non Profit HR Manager- manage employee programs for a cause such as arts, education, health ,etc.

3.HR Recruitment specialist- recruit , interview and place technical/non technical talent. This role can be further divided into HR Responsible for recruiting technical ,non technical talent and executive(senior level) talent

4.Global HR Specialist-manages international HR roles, events and various tasks

5.Payroll manager- responsible for generating payslips and ensuring the salary is credited to all it's employees, compensation and benefits of its employees

6.Staffing Manager- ensure all resources are staffed appropriately

This JD is missing critical information on specific roles and responsibilities of a HR Manager instead it has mentioned HR job duties under functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Should also be included in physical needs and it's correct here also

Following are some job duties of a HR Manager

  1. Responsible for human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel. how it is done? by recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  2. Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems. all activities is little vague , a HR manager is not entirely responsible for all the activities. He is responsible to obtain approvals, conduct events, ensure there is participation in the events
  3. Implements and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  4. Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
