Answer #1

Average time spend waiting \(=5\) minutes Average time being treated \(=15\) minutes

Thus,

Average time in clinic \(\left(\mathrm{W}_{s}\right)=\) average time waiting \(+\) average time being treated

$$ =15+5 $$

\(=20\) minutes

Average number waiting and being treated \(\left(L_{s}\right)=50\) minutes

Find arrival rate using following formula:

\(\begin{aligned} \lambda &=\frac{L_{s}}{\mathrm{~W}_{s}} \\ &=\frac{50}{20} \\ &=2.5 \end{aligned}\)

Therefore, the average number of patients coming through clinic per minute in a day is \(2.5\)
