2. An aqueous solution is a solution in which the solvent is water. In chemistry, an aqueous solution is water with a pH of 7.0 where the hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions are in balance. When a strong acid like HCl is added to it, the acid dissociates giving H+ and Cl- ions. Due to an increase in H+ ions the pH of the solution will decrease. The hydrogen ions react with water to form H3O+ and Cl-.

So, the correct option is -- a decrease in pH   

3. When a water molecule is attracted to another water molecule, it is due to the cohesive force of attraction. In a water molecule, the hydrogen atoms have a slightly positive charge and the oxygen atom has a slight negative charge. This means that a water molecule has an area of positive charge and an area of negative charge. The negatively and positively charged areas will attract each other. The partial negative charge on the oxygen atom of one water molecule can form a hydrogen bond with the partial positive charge on the H atoms of another water molecule.

So, the correct option is - The H atoms in the molecule of an H2O hydrogen bond with the O atoms in adjacent molecules of H2O.
