All ethics do not fit into "Descriptive" category and there are ethics which belong to the normative ethics category too. Descriptive judgments have more to do with the empirical and scientific data that is presented and reasonable inferences are drawn based on the data. Whereas the normative judgments involve the person to express his personal opinion and compare something to a benchmark that is referenced. Normative ethics is basically the study of how people are ought to behave. It more or less tells us about the behaviors that would be more correct to inhibit. For example, 'It is wrong to cause agony to the cat.' From the above discussion and the example, we realize that just "descriptive" judgments cannot cover all of the ethics.
