Where PaCO2 is the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the arteries. Its value ranges from 38 to 42 mmHg. Let us consider the PaCO2 = 42 mmHg in this case.

Given that the tidal volume = 600 ml

Expired PCO2 = 28.044 mmHg

Now, the V physiological dead space = (42 - 28.044)* 600ml / 42

= 199.37 ml.
