Answer #1

Solution:

1) Option B

Solublity = KH x P

KH = henry constant

P = pressure

Solubility increases with pressure. The value of Henry constant is high for polar CH3Cl gas.

2) Option A

Boiling point of NH3 is lower than -20°C. Hence, it is liquid.

3) Option D

Heat of fusion depends upon the melting point. Since melting point of SrF2 is higher, hence its heat of fusion is highest.

4) Option D

Depression in freezing point = - i kf x m

Where, i = Vant Hoff factor

m = molality

Hence, lowering in freezing point is minimum for KCl.

Because, i value = 2

ΔTf = - 2 x kf x 0.1 = - 0.2 kf

5) Option D

Vapor pressure decreases on increasing the boiling point. Alcohol is polar hence it has highest boiling point, hence less vapor pressure.
