Log-log plots are often used for ICP emission spectroscopy data. Why? Will a method that gives a linear beer’s law plot necessarily also give a linear log-log plot? Will using a log-log plot affect the calibration? Explain.

Answer #1

Generally, Calibration curve of each element shows high value and Linear dynamic ranges (LDR) spans have several orders of magnitude. Thus we are using log-log plot

It is easy to handle higher orders in logarithmic value

eg: log 10^8 = 8

Since residuals measure how far the observations are from the regression line, they are often used to assess the fit of the regression line to the data. We might display these vertical deviations graphically using a residual plot. By plotting the residuals against the explanatory variable x, we effectively magnify the deviations (that is, change the y-axis from response to vertical deviations), which allows for a better and closer examination of the deviations. Describe what a residual plot would look...

Only #6. The two equations are listed above. For solutions 1-3 use log(acetone) and 4-6 use log(HCl). Also equation 20 is located above. Please show your work. The acetone was 4M and the HCl was 1M. **Please omit the written equation for log[acetone] on the worksheet and use the one in the graph. Thank you! Not sure what data is unclear? If you actually read #6 you don't even need the graphs. Just the slopes that I have given. Need...

The Kjeldahl method is the most widely used method for determining the protein content of foods. It is based on the fact that protein is the only macronutrient (major nutrient) that contains nitrogen. The method gives the value of g of nitrogen per 100 g of food. That value is then multiplied by a constant, 6.25 g protein per g of nitrogen, to give the result expressed as g of protein per 100 g of food. a. Explain why this...
