Predict what hormonal changes can be expected in Jacob in response to his low blood glucose levels, the effect that hormone will have within the body, and the specific fuel source that his cells will utilize for their metabolic needs in response to this situation.

Ans:- the hormone which will be realeased is GLUCAGON  

Effect of this hormone include:-

Glycogenolytic ( only in liver and not in muscle)

Gluconeogenic

Lipolytic

Ketogenic

GLUCAGON is useful in emergency management of hypoglycemia.

All the above process lead to increase in level of

glucose and free fatty acid in body . Cells will initially use glucose as source of energy when glucose stores are over ketonbody synthesis will start and cells will use free fatty acid to make energy.
