2) In class today we learned how much ATP could be made using the energy released by the reduction of O₂ by NADH. Now do the same thing but showing how much ATP can made from the reduction of O₂ by FADH₂! HINT: use the redox table.

                                                 1 ATP production requires = 4 H+

                                                    Each FADH₂ releases = 6H+

Total yield of ATP produced by a single FADH₂= 6H+/1FADH₂ x 1 ATP/4H+ = 1.5ATP

Total yield of ATP produced by 2 FADH₂ produces = 2 x1.5 = 3 molecules of ATP
